Job Summary

Performs a variety of skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of the city utility systems. May operate machinery to clean water systems, sewer systems, and any other maintenance required by machinery. Performs water leaks, meter reading/installing, road work, snow removal any other duties related to public works.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Previous experience with underground water systems, equipment placement, residential service locations, easements, and right-of-way specifications is preferred.

• Must have a Utah CDL license or obtain it within 6 months.

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

• Skilled in operating various types of tools and power equipment to perform essential functions.

• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisor, subordinates, and the public.

• Will be required to pass a physical, drug test, and background check.

• Position level depends on experience and State Wastewater Collection/Distribution Certification.

• Must obtain State Water and Wastewater Certification Grade 1 within 18 months.

• Employee must reside within 30 minutes of City Limits (based on average Google Maps drive time) for on-call purposes. Employee can take up to 6 months to relocate within the appropriate response time area.
