2. Inspects projects engineered in-house and contracted by the District.
3. Inspects work to ensure safe working practices and facility compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
4. Reads and interprets plans and determines conformity to standards.
5. Compiles statistical information; checks computations, structure lay-outs, and grades.
6. Discusses construction problems with the contractor and personnel.
7. Evaluates scope of problems and determines alternate course of action. Discusses problems and course of action with District Engineer and personnel.
8. Performs all duties and assignments in compliance with all District Policies, State and Federal regulations, as well as OSHA and all applicable safety standards.
9. Attends and participates in various meetings of the District, as requested by the District Engineer.
10. Other duties as assigned by the District Engineer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Graduation from high school, plus two (2) years specialized training related to civil engineering construction inspection. Six (6) years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Thorough knowledge of pumps, conveyor equipment, compressors, drive units and other mechanical equipment, treatment plant process, collection system design and operation.
3. Ability to inspect contractor’s work and conformity to plans and specs.
4. Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, plus contractors, vendors and general public.
5. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate reports. Prepare and present complex written and oral reports. Prepare construction photo log reports.
6. Ability to navigate Procore Construction Management (or similar) software.
7. Willingness to work extended or modified shifts if required and respond to emergencies and other diverse operational demands.
8. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Familiar with Local, State and Federal regulations as applicable to safety and wastewater operation.
9. Possession of a valid Utah State Driver’s License
